Australian organisation advancing women leaders through programmes and advocacy.
Chief Executive Women is a leading Australian organisation for women leaders, working on gender equity and professional excellence through programmes, research and advocacy. Its membership is senior, which sets the bar for anything member-facing. Growth in that membership is what forced the platform question.
Membership was growing while the systems behind it stayed split across separate tools. Member engagement, event registration and renewals each lived somewhere different, so administrative work multiplied and nothing gave a complete view of a member. The fragmentation landed on exactly the moments that matter: joining, registering for an event, and renewing. CEW wanted one place where a member could see everything and do everything, at a standard matching the rest of the organisation.
NWC's award-winning designers had set the standard for how this should look and feel, and the build had to hold that standard inside HubSpot rather than compromise it. We built the site and membership portal on the Nexus Enterprise theme, then wrote the pieces HubSpot does not do natively. A members directory needed real search and filtering, so it was built on HubDB. Renewals needed to be one action rather than a chase, so the renewal module was wired directly into HubSpot Memberships and HubSpot Payments through Stripe.
Member engagement and event management now run from one place instead of several. Administrative overhead dropped, because registration and renewal became things a member does rather than things staff process. Members land on a personalised home page with their own updates and quick links, and a directory that makes the network usable. The portal holds the standard CEW sets everywhere else.
